I want to start by saying thank you for all of your generous donations. John and I have raised $9,229 with your help and we couldn’t be more grateful.
We are about to start a new fundraising push to raise the rest of the funds that we need to complete the adoption process. I want to be completely transparent with all of you and so I will show you the exact breakdown of what we need to raise
$20,600 – to be listed as a waiting family (raised close to ½ of this. YAY! And Thank You!)
$2,000- $3,000 - Home Study (this insures we will be suitable parents and have a safe home)
$3,000+ for Birthmother expenses
Approx. $8,000 – legal fees
This brings us to the whopping total of: $34,600
This seems like a daunting number, but John and I have complete faith that God will make it happen. The hard part is to remember that He will make it happen on His time not our time.
This brings us to our new fundraising idea. We are going to start an on-line raffle. Each week we will post one item to bid on. This week we are raffling off a $50 gift card to a movie theatre of your choice. Every $5 that you donate will earn you one entry in the drawing. The drawing will be held next Thursday morning and the winner will be announced on this blog. We have many more exciting items being donated for us to raffle off in the coming weeks. So keep checking back if movies aren’t your thing.
